Hail and well met . . . the following is meant to offer a little insight and information with regard to the "New Player Quests and Rewards".  Please note that Britannia is an ever changing world and this information is subject to change with any new publish.

Out with the "old" in with the "new"

Hail and well met my fellow players!

Much has happened recently after the turning in of blackrock. There has been much despair, amazement, excitement, resentment, and overall bewilderment in the new developments of the Haven area.

It looks as though the turning in of blackrock had a greater consequence than anyone could have realized! The town of Haven blew up! And in its place is New Haven which can be found to the west of the original Haven town, which sadly is a horrifying mess of broken walls, debris and undead. While there are parts of old Haven (over to the North of the ruins) that are still up and accessible, it has become overun by undead such as zombies, spectral spellcasters, skeletons, and a new monster - Dreglor the Impaler (who is rather tough for a new character, so beware!) and this area can be quite perilous to the new players that are entering our land of Pacific! So keep on your toes and watch out for yourselves! =)

The new areas of New Haven are very rough and ramshackle. It is hoped that as time goes by that the residents will manage to complete the buildings and add in supplies as they can get them. Many players are upset by the roughness of the new town and the feel of it, which many have called "incomplete". I encourage those who have negative feelings to hope for the best and wait and see what new changes will be coming along! After all, with Haven recently blown up and a new town grown overnight, it is little wonder that the New Haven feels lacking, but also very different than what you are used to! Also please be aware (if you aren't already) that most runes to Haven will no longer work and you cannot recall or gate into areas that you could previously. To get to the new town, simply go to a moongate and choose New Haven. At this point you will end up at a moongate very far south of the new town. Head north towards the bridge, go over it and follow the road north until you reach the new town gates. You will head west at some point near the ruins and the town is not far from there.

I have spent much time in New Haven this week (as a new character) and learning the ins and outs of the area. I have to say that I quite enjoy it and have done all of the new quests that are being offered around the town (except for the necromancy ones simply because the rewards were things I already have an abundant supply of - necro reagents and a full necro spell book).

I am including screenshots of all the instructors along with a screenshot of the rewards that are given. It's my understanding (from various little birds and whispers), that these rewards will be changing shortly with an upcoming publish and will not have the same modifiers or might possibly have their blessed status removed and will not be what are shown in the images. Of course that's all whispers and such, but please don't be surprised or upset if the rewards you might get from these quests are different! I will create another character to work on obtaining any new questing items in order to share them with you.

In other exciting news regarding questing in our little New Haven, there are tales being told of a ninjitsu instructor coming to town, along with an archery instructor! I will be keeping a sharp eye out for these instructors and will pass on the news of their arrival!

Now as far as the New Haven goes, I have to say I feel it is very friendly towards new players. Everything is located within an easy distance and the small town even supports an animal trainer, which is right near the docks and is very handy for my hardworking fisher! She can now simply walk a few steps to retrieve her packhorse and get right back to fishing! Very nice!

I will admit that some of the buildings are a bit hard to walk in and some corners are definitely tricky, as are the stairs. However for a new player, these obstacles will definitely help them learn to get around on Sosaria terrain quite quickly! The town provides almost everything a new player needs with a few exceptions (such as a Bushido instructor, but no way to purchase a Bushido book!- note: I have heard this will be addressed in the new publish) but I'm sure that as time passes, the New Haven will become a beacon for all the players on our lovely Pacific shard!

Now, as promised, here are the screenshots I took of the instructors as well as the rewards they offer =)

Bushido

Chivalry

Focus

Healing and Anatomy

(note: There is a healer in Old Haven where you can purchase bandages, OR you can purchase cloth to make bandages in New Haven from the tailor shop which is right near the bank! Make sure you purchase scissors if you don't have some!)

Macing

Magery

Meditation

Parrying

Resisting Spells, Inscription, and Evaluate Intelligence

(note: Resisting spells is VERY hard to raise. I finally figured out how to do it though! Simply have your character target the spectral spellcasters - I used 6 of them - and let them follow you through town and hit you with their spells. They cast necro spells by the way. Make sure that as you are leading your little parade through town that you change directions and move all over the town. Do not simply go in a circle around the town. It took me about an hour to get my resist from 40 to 50. The good news is, I also raised my herding! (just kidding lol) but it definitely looks like you're working on herding! lol)

Tactics and Swordsmanship

Wrestling

(note: The "Dueling Pits" that the wrestling instructor tells you to go to are located on the roof of the building he's in. This quest is somewhat "broken" in that you cannot gain in that area because you're fighting hired fighters and because you're in a guard zone you do no damage and take no damage. However, when you go into Old Haven you can wrestle the undead for .1 gains. It goes pretty darn quickly, so I don't hesitate in recommending this way to gain.)
Many thanks to Snowflake of the Baja shard for taking the time to compile and share this information.
